Privacy
policy
A plain-language explanation of what this static archive does and does not collect.
At a glance
ZhongKui Archive is an independent, fan-made research archive. The current version is a static website and does not require an account or accept comments. It uses Google Analytics to count page visits, which sets cookies in your browser — see Analytics below.
Information we collect
We do not collect names, email addresses, account credentials, payment details, precise location data, or other directly identifying information through this site. The site has no newsletter, login, comment system, or first-party advertising. The one thing we do collect is aggregate usage data through Google Analytics, described next.
Hosting and technical logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare may process limited technical information, such as an IP address, browser details, request time, and security events, to deliver and protect the site. This processing is controlled by Cloudflare's own policies and terms.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-MZ6QFQWRFD) to understand which pages people actually read. It is loaded on every page and sets cookies in your browser — _ga and _ga_MZ6QFQWRFD — which distinguish one browser from another so that a returning visitor is not counted as a new one.
Through it, Google receives the pages you view, the page that referred you, your browser and device type, and the IP address of your request, from which an approximate location such as country or city is derived. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We have not enabled Google Signals, advertising features, user IDs, or any cross-site advertising integration, and we do not upload personal identifiers to Google.
We see only aggregate reports — page counts, countries, referrers. We cannot identify an individual visitor from them, and we do not attempt to.
To opt out: block the domain googletagmanager.com with a content blocker, enable your browser's tracking protection, or install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Nothing on this site requires analytics to work, and the site behaves identically with it blocked.
This site does not currently display a cookie consent banner, so the analytics cookies described above are set when you arrive. If you are visiting from a region whose rules require your prior consent for such cookies, please use one of the opt-out methods above.
External links and embedded media
Some pages may link to official websites, news sources, YouTube, Steam, or other third-party services. Those sites have their own privacy practices. An external site may collect information when you visit it, even if you arrived from ZhongKui Archive.
The gameplay page embeds an official video using YouTube's no-cookie player domain (youtube-nocookie.com). This means YouTube does not set personalised advertising cookies for the embed, but loading and playing the video still involves a request to Google servers, which receives your IP address and basic device information. Videos are embedded from the official channel and are never downloaded or re-hosted here.
Fonts and site search
Webfonts are self-hosted and served from this site's own domain, so displaying a page makes no font request to Google or any other third party. Chinese display characters use whichever serif font your device already has installed.
Site search runs entirely in your browser using a static index downloaded with the page. Search queries are not transmitted to us, are not logged, and are not sent to any search provider.
Future changes
If we add affiliate links, forms, advertising, accounts, or other services that change what information is processed, this policy will be updated before or when those features are introduced.
Contact
For privacy questions or requests concerning this website, write to contact@zhongkuiarchive.com. Because this site holds no accounts and stores nothing about you itself, most access or deletion requests will concern data held by Cloudflare (hosting logs) or Google (analytics) rather than anything in our possession, and we will point you to the right controller. Please do not send sensitive personal information by email.
