Every answer carries its evidence status. Four of the nine are still some version of “not announced”.

“Unknown” is an answer

Where nothing has been confirmed, this page says so rather than filling the space. If an answer here contradicts a specification table you have seen elsewhere, the difference is usually that the table is guessing.

Do you play as Zhong Kui?

Unknown. The playable character has not been named, and Game Science has not stated his relationship to the Zhong Kui of Chinese folklore. The previous game was titled for Sun Wukong but cast the player as a different character, so the title alone does not settle it.Game ScienceOfficial video

Corrections

Tell us when this goes out of date.

This page is reviewed against the official channels rather than rewritten when a rumour appears. If an answer here is stale — an announcement we missed, a store page that has since gone up — the correction address is on the about page, and the change will be dated when it lands.

Answers are updated in place, not duplicated into new articles.

The 15-minute reveal this archive breaks down. Embedded, not re-hosted. The quote is from the video’s own description — it is the first-party origin of the “early development” and “work-in-progress build” lines that Gematsu and VGC both carry. The description also calls the player character only “the protagonist”.
